Here are some photographs from the safari my sister and I took before I returned to the US (I will add labels when I upload them to Facebook). We did a 7 day camping safari through Base Camp Tanzania and had an AMAZING time! The safari allowed us to camp in Tarangire NP, Lake Manyara NP, Serengeti NP and Ngorongoro Conservation area. It was such an awesome experience…I will let the photos speak for themselves…
Please let me know if you would like any prints.
Rest Day – Around Arusha: Sue and I decided to take a walk and explore the villages in the mountains around our guesthouse. What a great way to celebrate her birthday!
Olduvai Gorge: Where 10,000 year old footprints were found
Serengeti National Park: Day One
Serengeti National Park: Day Two
Serengeti National Park: Day Three
Serengeti National Park: Day Four
Ngorongoro Conservation Area: Camped on the rim of the crater
Wow, it looks like you had a wonderful time John. You were so lucky to see leopard too. Love all the shots, but my favourite has to be the parrots…..awesome colours. xx
Thanks, Jill!
Beautiful. Now I want to go, but I need more than that little tent between me and the hyenas!
Thank you, Melissa! Don’t worry about the hyenas, they are only after your food scraps!
Gorgeous photos! My fiance and I will be headed to Tanzania the first week in November for our honeymoon. We are trying to narrow down what gear to bring and rent. Any suggestions on lenses and gear? Your photos are great!
Thank you, Jamielynn!
What gear to bring/rent depends on your safari and how long you will be there for. As for camera gear, I used a Nikon D5100 with a 55-300mm lense for almost all of these photos. I did find it helpful to have a regular 18-55mm lense for wider shots such as the sunsets and trying to capture the vastness of the Serengeti. Email me about your itinerary and I can help you more with gear! JFire13@gmail.com
